# Team Time Spend

> Explore how a team allocates time across work categories using an Early Access analysis with filters, drill-downs, and chart or table views.

# Explore Team Time Spend

## Sources

Docs: [Ponder Primer](/ponder/primer)

Web App: Open **Early Access**, choose **Team Time Spend**, and select an
available analysis for the current Workspace.

Team Time Spend helps a Workspace understand where estimated work time goes.
Use it to compare categories, inspect differences between teams or other
available dimensions, and identify questions worth investigating—not to score
individual people from one chart.

## Read an analysis

  <Step title="Choose the analysis and period">
    Select the available analysis, date range, and team or organization unit.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Filter the population">
    Use the available Workspace dimensions, such as department or region, to
    answer a specific question.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Explore categories">
    Start with the high-level distribution, then select a category to inspect
    the next level where data is available.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Change the view">
    Use chart view for proportions and table view for exact rows and sorting.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Keep the question with the result">
    Preserve the selected filters in the URL and use Ponder to discuss the
    interpretation, assumptions, and next evidence needed.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Interpret carefully

The analysis depends on the connected sources, selected period, available
population, taxonomy, and classification quality. A category total is an
estimate within that context, not a timecard or a complete measure of value.
Compare like-for-like selections and read visible data-quality or empty-state
messages before drawing a conclusion.

If no analysis is available, confirm the Workspace and Early Access
availability. If a filter produces no result, widen the date range or remove
filters one at a time. Do not infer zero activity from a failed or incomplete
data load.
