# Premises Primer

> Understand the App Plane, Action Planes, cloud accounts, and their audit trail.

Premises gives a Workspace a clear view of its cloud locations and the work
assigned to them. Open **Premises** in the application sidebar.

Access currently requires the Parable staff permission `admin.premises.view`.
A Workspace administrator role alone does not grant this access.

## App & Action Planes

The **App Plane** is the Workspace's application location. **Action Planes**
provide additional locations for data and processing. A Workspace has one
active App Plane; once it exists, the creation flow offers an Action Plane.

Each card leads with the cloud provider, region flag, location and readable
provider region. A colored status badge shows its condition. Use **Filter
Planes** and the adjacent filters in the breadcrumb bar to find a location,
review attention states or inspect archived records.

Hover a card or focus it with the keyboard to reveal its Actions menu. On touch
screens, the control stays visible. Actions are grouped by purpose and checked
against the current state, permissions and dependencies. A dialog opened before
a state or permission change cannot authorize an outdated action.

An applicable lifecycle action stays visible but disabled while a prerequisite
is unmet, with its reason beside it. This covers attached Data Providers, an
already requested retry, a missing teardown handoff and unverified removal.
View-only access and read-only planes have no mutation menu.

Open a plane for Overview, Features, Data Providers and Access. Resources,
versions, configuration and diagnostics are available through the technical
details disclosure. Missing or unfamiliar information remains readable while
unsafe changes are refused.

## Cloud Accounts

Cloud accounts are separate from planes. Several accounts from the same cloud
provider can coexist in one Workspace. The verified account identity stays
fixed; changing its label does not change the account.

Use **Connect account** to go through approval and verification. Hover or focus
an account card to reveal its edit icon and Delete action. Delete removes the
connection from the active account list; it does not close a cloud-provider
account. Planes must be removed and archived first, and historical ownership
records are retained.

## Audit

Audit is a chronological data grid of changes, with time, action, location,
actor and result. Its search and result filter live in the breadcrumb bar.
Sort a column, page through events, or open an event for details. The location
and result use the same presentation as the plane cards.

## Navigation

The application sidebar selects Premises. Its Page tree switches between
App & Action Planes, Cloud Accounts and Audit. Each breadcrumb appears once;
a Page with children reveals its dropdown affordance on hover or keyboard
focus. Selecting a child does not hide the other Pages.
